Attraction Marketing Basics
I wrote this on a plane from Edmonton to Toronto. I thought it would be more productive use of my time instead of catching up on movies like I normally do.
I spend a lot of time on the internet (probably too much) and a fair amount of that time gets spent looking at other people’s websites. Whether it’s traffic exchanges or safelists, it never ceases to amaze me how many people just throw a company replicated site in front of people hoping they will bite.
Just to backup a step, let me explain what I mean by a company replicated site. I mean a site that is designed by a primary company that is directly pitching an opportunity. For example, I’m sure everyone has seen the animated Ferrari movie developed by GDI (Global Domains International). It’s everywhere on the internet. Now there is certainly nothing wrong with GDI. I am a member myself. But if you want to attract people to your opportunity you need to offer them something different.
If there are thousands or even hundreds of thousands of people promoting a product, why should someone choose you as their sponsor over someone else. If you are all promoting the same sites, you all look the same.
Stand Out From The Crowd
One of the keys to being successful in network marketing is to stand out from the crowd. Offer something no one else is offering or at least offer it in a way that is unique.
The best way to do this is to position yourself as a leader and lead with value rather than leading with your opportunity. People do business with people they know, like and trust. I’m sure you have heard that before. It’s a concept that is at the core of attraction marketing.
To get people to know, like and trust you, give them what they really need. Solutions to their problems. People do not get online looking to pay their mortgage, they want peace of mind. They don’t want more money to take a vacation, they want freedom.
Lead With Value
To make this really easy, most new internet marketers have the same problem. They don’t know how to market a business online. So to solve their problem all you have to do is provide them with valuable information on the ins and outs of online marketing.
When you start by providing valuable information with no expectation of anything in return, they will see you as a person that genuinely wants to help them. This sincerity will help them to know you, like you and trust you.
Then, when you finally do present them with your opportunity, they will be ready and willing to get out their wallet. They will trust you and value your opinion. You will have built a relationship with them rather than just trying to ram your opportunity down their throat. Remember, people like to buy, but they don’t like to be sold.
